PINT Schematron Rules — Shared, PINT-AE and PINT-OM
A PINT invoice is validated against two schematron files that share no rule IDs: the shared PINT set, then the national layer — 132 rules for PINT-AE v1.0.4, 154 for PINT-OM v1.0.1. A UAE invoice passes 302 rules in total, an Omani one 324. This index keeps the layers apart, because ibr-123 and ibr-123-ae are unrelated checks and knowing which layer a rule sits in decides whether it travels across a border.
Three layers, validated in order
Every PINT invoice is checked against a shared rule set, then against the rule set of the country it was issued in. The two layers are held in separate schematron files and share no rule IDs between them — a UAE invoice passes 302 rules, an Omani one 324.
Shared PINT rules
170 rules
Validation carried by every PINT jurisdiction, applied before any national layer. A shared rule means the same thing wherever it appears — which rules apply follows the PINT release a country adopted, so the sets drift slightly between jurisdictions.

Layer 2 — United Arab EmiratesPINT-AE v1.0.4
132 rules
The UAE layer that sits on top of the shared set, applied by every UAE sender under MD 243. Published at v1.0.4 on 3 June 2026. Roughly one rule in three that a UAE invoice must pass lives here rather than in the shared specification. Self-billing runs on the same 132 rules.

Layer 2 — OmanPINT-OM
154 rules
Oman published PINT-OM v1.0.1 on 29 July 2026 — a heavier national layer than the UAE carries. Self-billing runs on these same 154 rules, differing only in two identifier values. A separate Tax Data Document of 66 rules is reported to the OTA on top.
