🏆 Grateful. Humbled. Energized.

Yesterday in a glittering award ceremony in The Londoner Hotel, London, I was awarded the ITR (International Tax Review) EMEA Inhouse Indirect Tax Leader of the Year Award – 2025.

This is not just a recognition of the work we do in the trenches everyday, but also of the stories we dare to tell, the communities we give back to, and the future we help design.

Over the past year in 2024, I've had the privilege to lead some of the most complex and rewarding tax transformation journeys and transitions.

But what makes this moment truly special is that it also honors something deeply personal: my debut business-fiction novel, Extinction of Tax As We Know It - a first-of-its-kind, this book blends real-world experience with storytelling, showcasing how tax technology, data governance, and transformation challenges are reshaping not only compliance, but careers.

As governments move toward real-time reporting and automation becomes ubiquitous, this book invites leaders to pause—and reimagine what the future of tax should really look like.

🔹My deepest thanks to the visionary leadership at Majid Al Futtaim,

🔹The incredible teams I work alongside across regions and time zones,

🔹 and the broader tax community, for making this profession more human, more dynamic, and more impactful each day.

I’m honoured to be featured in this year's ITR (International Tax Review) Award Winner Series.

The article captures my thoughts on:
– What indirect tax leadership really means today
– Why compliance is only the beginning
– How we must evolve at the intersection of law, data, and technology
– And how my book hashtag#ExtinctionofTaxAsWeKnowIt is my way of sharing forward

I’ve been fortunate to work with and learn from incredible mentors, and this is my way of enabling others to lead, build, and transform.

Thank you to the many friends and peers who’ve been part of this path.
